Being a nurse for 28 years I have seen so many children and listened to so many stories of victims of child abuse . 6 years ago I had a good friend tell me she was physically and sexual abused from the age of 7 until 15 she never told anyone . She sat at the age of 35 telling me this story . Tears rolled down my face asking why didn’t see tell anyone and simply she said because there was never anyone to talk to who listened . Since then I realized it takes more than just being a nurse , a doctor a counselor we need to be a village. If I show them stepping out on the edge and trusting someone like I’m willing to do is ok then it’s ok for them to speak up and trust someone too. I’ve never heard of this organization and by doing this it will help bring more awareness from the people who I know this is a raising concern and we need to be the voice these children need .
