Why I participate: The McMahon Ryan Child Advocacy Center provides critical support for children in our community and brings awareness to an issue that far too often goes unnoticed. One of the things I have always been most proud of as a Syracuse resident is how the community always steps up when confronted with an issue – but in order to do that, the community needs to be aware of the issue in the first place. Child abuse is too often a hidden or inconceivable evil for many people in our community, and events like this serve to bridge that gap in awareness and bring the community together around a worthy cause. I hope that my involvement will expand awareness in my own social and professional circles, and provide a conduit for the great people of Syracuse to make a meaningful impact on the lives of children here in our community.
