WSYR: McMahon/Ryan Child Advocacy Center reacts to Boeheim's apology

SYRACUSE, NY (WSYR-TV) – After days of national scrutiny, SU men’s basketball head coach Jim Boeheim is expressing regret after his initial comments about the sexual abuse allegations against former assistant coach Bernie Fine.

“I shouldn't have questioned what the accusers expressed or their motives. I am really sorry that I did," said Boeheim in a post-game press conference on Friday.

Boeheim now understands the impact of words, a lesson learned the hard way, after visiting the McMahon/Ryan Child Advocacy Center.

Regarding Recent Allegations of Child Abuse at Syracuse University

These are difficult and troubling times for our community. The developments at Syracuse University are drawing media and community attention to child sexual abuse in ways we have never before seen in Central New York.  It is a time that demands the experience and leadership of the McMahon/Ryan Child Advocacy Center and all who support it.  I am writing to update you on how we are responding to this call.
