Newsletter/Website/Public Relations

Assist in the publication of our periodic newsletters and e-newsletters through writing articles and stories. Assist staff with updating of our our website. Volunteers are always welcome at our booth/display at various events, like the Syracuse Nationals. Even an event photographer would be a huge help.

Event Support

Assist in set up, take down, planning and staffing of events. The events include: Pinwheels for Prevention (in April), National Child Abuse Awareness Month (in April), 100 Holes for Kids Golf Fundraiser (in May), "do 1 thing" campaign (in September), and The Sounds of the Season Fundraiser (in November).

Fundraising

Assist with the coordination of special events, solicitation of local businesses for donations, preparation and organization of materials related to fundraising and/or planning. Actual volunteer tasks will vary according to the volunteer’s experience, contacts, and comfort level. Fundraising volunteers are provided with training, support, and materials. There are opportunities to assist in all stages of fundraising projects including event coordination, graphic design of promotional materials, assistance with mass mailings, follow-up calls to local businesses, and meetings with local business leaders.

Volunteer Coordinator

Recruit and inspire volunteers to work at the Site. Keep volunteers updated on Site happenings, and manage volunteer scheduling.

Research Aide

Assist in researching topics for fact sheets, workshops, and various activities.
